Update 10/17/2024 - The desktop clients for Windows and MacOS had their functionality restored. We strongly advise end users to utilize the clients to remove any and all applied encryption from their files.
The clients will remain active for 30 days, to allow ample time for all end users to perform this task.
Update 10/10/2024 - We are exploring options to extend the end-of-life support of the eShare desktop clients for a limited amount of time, to allow end users to remove encryption without the need to navigate to the Web Portal. Further updates will be provided in this article as they become available.
As previously announced, we are transitioning away from our MacOS and Windows clients. The latest release marks the final step in this process.
Personal users can still access their Cloud Provider content and manage all previously created Trusted Shares by navigating to eShare Web Portal.
For users that have applied encryption via the respective Desktop clients, they can remove encryption by right clicking any relevant folder, selecting "Details" and the option "Remove encryption" will be available where applicable. Once decrypted, content will be once again accessible via the native cloud providers (OneDrive, Google Drive etc.)
This announcement is only applicable to personal end users that have continued using our desktop clients after the end-of-life announcement earlier in 2024.
