NEW FEATURES
-
Trusted Share ownership management by administrators
A new feature has been introduced that enables organization administrators (with the "eShare administrator" role assigned), to change ownership of Trusted Shares created by organizational users. This is necessary in cases where Trusted Share owners have left the organization or have been moved to projects where access to specific Trusted Shares is not appropriate. The administrator can additionally disable or add recipients to a Trusted Share.
All changes made generate an appropriate Audit event and email notifications are sent to the users affected by these changes. This new functionality can be found under "Admin console" -> "Organization Shares". A User Guide for this feature can be found on our support site. -
System notifications for Trusted Share activity (phased roll out)
The eShare cloud web portal can now push notifications to users via their browser and operating system. These notifications will be presented to the user when:
- New messages are created within a Trusted Share.
- The user is @mentioned within a Trusted Share.
- New uploads occur within a Trusted Share.
Users will be presented with a notification consent pop-up window, followed by a consent by the user’s browser. Users can also enabled/disabled notifications under "Account settings". Supported browsers include Microsoft's Edge and Google's Chrome and supported operating systems are Windows and MacOS.
Administrators can disable this feature via “Device Policy” within the “Admin Console”. Note that the enabling or disabling of system notifications has no impact on the existing email notifications sent for Trusted Share activity (i.e., the two notification mechanisms operate independently). A User Guide for notifications can be found on our support site.
Notifications will be enabled across all organizations in phases over a 6-week timeframe. To accelerate this feature for your organization, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
ENHANCEMENTS
-
Bulk upload audit event and notification
We now generate a single audit event and send a single email notification when a user uploads multiple files to a Trusted Share. Previously, we generated an audit event and sent a notification for each file upload. Note that we already generate a single audit event and send a single email notification for bulk file downloads. -
Organization Trusted Settings
In our previous release, we introduced the ability to have override-able controls that will supersede the default sharing policies for specified “Trusted” domains. With our current release we are expanding this functionality to also include files that have no sensitivity label assigned. Admins will be able to define Sharing Policy overrides for Login required, One-time password and Terms of use for Trusted Domains when sharing non labeled files. -
Share With Me support for onmicrosoft.com domains
The Share With Me functionality has been enhanced to support onmicrosoft.com domains, which is a commonly used email domain for groups linked to SharePoint Online sites and Teams. -
BUG FIXES
-
There was an issue in the Device Policy section of the Portal that would cause a blocked domain in the block list to not be honored. This has been corrected and any domains blocked should once again prevent Trusted Share creation.
-
There was an issue when creating or renaming Trusted Shares that would cause a failure when the name included an emoji character. This has been corrected and Trusted Shares can now include an emoji in their name.
-
There was an issue when editing email templates for Secure Mail Gateway that would sometimes cause the template not to be saved when the user saved his progress. This has been corrected and should no longer be the case.
-
There was an issue when receiving an email notification from a Trusted Share generated via Access Link that would display the wrong notification email address to the Trusted Share owner. This has been corrected and should no longer be the case.
-
There was an issue with older iPhone models that would cause Office files and the Cloud Provider drop down menu to not be rendered properly. This has been corrected and should no longer be the case.
