eShare 165 Release Notes
NEW FEATURE
-
Enhanced SFTP Solution
We are excited to introduce eShare's new SFTP solution, designed to meet the security and governance requirements of highly regulated organizations. Traditional SFTP solutions often fall short in providing the self-service capabilities, sharing controls, and collaboration features that users expect from modern cloud file sharing solutions like SharePoint and eShare. Our new SFTP solution addresses these gaps and offers a greatly improved, cloud-based alternative.
Key benefits of eShare’s SFTP solution include:
-
Internal users can share files directly from M365 (e.g., SharePoint) without the need to move or copy files to dedicated servers.
-
Users can share files via familiar Trusted Shares, using the same UI and controls as any other Trusted Share, eliminating the need to use outdated SFTP clients.
-
Recipients can access shared files using their existing SFTP clients and scripts, while also having the option to access files via CWP.
-
Internal users can access and update shared files through their preferred UI, including M365 App, CWP, and SharePoint Online.
-
eShare automates the creation and management of recipient accounts, allowing recipients to self-manage their accounts, including their SSH public key.
-
All usual eShare controls, including those driven by site and file sensitivity labels, are applicable.
-
Collaboration capabilities of a Trusted Share, such as Secure Conversations, are available to share participants.
-
A single audit log for all external sharing is now available.
ENHANCEMENTS
-
Emoji Support in file names, share names & subject lines
The use of emojis in file names, share names, and subject lines is now supported. This enhancement allows for more expressive and personalized communication, making it easier to identify and categorize your shared content at a glance.
-
SharePoint Site Linking
Linking SharePoint sites through the eShare API using various attributes is now supported. You can now connect sites by Site Name, Site ID, URL, Group Email, Group ID, and Group Name. This enhancement provides greater flexibility and efficiency in managing and accessing your SharePoint resources.
BUG FIXES
-
An issue was identified and resolved where sending a secure message with an emoji in the email body resulted in the creation of a trusted share. However, the trusted share displayed "Content is missing" instead of the email body.
