Overview
Microsoft has announced that they will be turning off legacy exchange tokens starting in February 2025. This change requires a change to the authentication method used by all Outlook Add-in, with the new method requiring the use of Nested App Authentication. For more information, please refer to Microsoft’s Announcement.
Prerequisite
The Organization Administrator must have the role of Application Administrator or Global Administrator in the M365 Tenant to install this Enterprise Application.
Install Enterprise Application
Navigate to the Azure Portal (https://portal.azure.com) and sign into the platform as an M365 administrator account. Once logged into Azure, open the “Microsoft Entra ID” service and make note of your organization’s “Tenant ID”.
In a new Tab or Window, enter the following URL while replacing the “{tenant_id}“ section with your Organization’s Tenant ID.
Azure Commercial Customer URL
https://login.microsoftonline.com/{tenant_id}/adminconsent?client_id= b732bdb9-0894-4b98-966c-964969c9e67a&redirect_uri=https://outlook-add-ins.eshare.com/
Once the URL is added in the browser, a Microsoft prompt will appear requesting consent to the eSHARE Outlook Add-in application. Review the requested permissions and click “Accept” to add the application.
Once the permissions have been accepted, your administrator will be redirected to the following screen. This indicates the eSHARE Outlook Add-in application has been installed.
To ensure the application was successfully installed, go back to “Microsoft Entra ID” and navigate to “Enterprise Applications”. Once this menu is opened, search for eSHARE Outlook Add-In and verify the application exists.
