eShare 145 Release Notes
Trusted Share messages when Secure Conversation is disabled
In cases where a Trusted Share is created with the Secure Conversation feature disabled, we the user can now include a message during Trusted Share creation. This message will be visible in the email notification sent to recipients and in the Secure Conversation panel within the Trusted Share. However, no interaction will be allowed within the Secure Conversation panel (i.e., no new messages are allowed, nor are replies allowed to the initial message).
Use of parent sensitivity labels when sublabels are present
A new setting has been added in Device Policy settings called “Assign parent label to sub label”. This setting, when enabled, results in the parent label of the sublabel being used when the admin defines sharing policies and when eShare evaluates policies. This feature reduces the number of sharing policies created and managed when an organization has deployed numerous sublabels and wants a common sharing policy to be applied when a sublabel is encountered when a files/folders are being shared or a Trusted Share is being accessed.
Separate justifications for file access override
The modal presented to users when a recipient requests access to files, whose sensitivity label would otherwise block, now supports two user provided justifications. This allows for separate override justifications to be provided by the user in cases where both the allow/disallow list of the sharing policy and the configured Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) is blocking access to the file. In this case separate reasons for the blocking action are provided. The additional override justification field is also present via the “Pending requests” page, when users approve/deny access via notification emails, and via the “My Shares” page via the “Manage Recipients” panel.
Search for registered SharePoint sites by Display Name in the Admin Console
We previously allowed SharePoint sites to be searched within the SharePoint Sites page of the Admin Console only be their group name. But in some cases, admins create sites with a display name that differs from the group name. To accommodate these cases, we now allow searching for SharePoint sites by both display name and group name.
My Shares and Shared With Me icon placement
Several enhancements have been made to icons presented in the My Shares and Shared With Me pages for a more unified UX experience.
- There was an issue when marking Trusted Shares as favorites that would cause a discrepancy between available options. This has been corrected and should no longer be the case.
- There was an issue when selecting multiple Trusted Shares to be removed from the “Favorites” page, that would cause the action to fail. This has been corrected and should no longer be the case.
- There was an issue that would cause the “edit” button to not trigger when selecting PDF files within a Trusted Share. This has been corrected and the edit button should behave normally once again.
- There was an issue that would cause all icons present in the “Manage recipients” tab to be the same. This has been corrected and all icons are once again properly displayed.
